Because I cannot find any free and freely available Basic font-Font, I used the help of myscriptfont.com I made one myself to create teaching materials for my students. I am happy to share the font and present it here for download The font should and may be freely used and distributed for teaching materials of any kind (worksheets, index cards, digital media, etc.). It is expressly permitted and desired to share learning materials created with it publicly (e.g. on blogs, portals, websites, etc.). Commercial use of the font is also permitted. The only condition is that the name of the font ("Basic font by Christian Urff") appears somewhere in the small print so that the font can then be found and used by users.
To install under Windows, Font files in the directory C:/Windows/Fonts On the Mac, Drag and drop the file into the Font Book program.
The writing is on openfontlibrary.org available and can also be integrated into websites or web applications using CSS.

A practical function has been added for creating math worksheets: all numbers have the same character width, so that the numbers are exactly one below the other when several tasks are written one below the other. This simply looks neat and makes it easier to work with exact positions. What bothers me about many fonts is that the equal sign or numbers are not exactly one below the other or have to be corrected "by hand". Here is an example of what this can look like in practice:

The small box (“2 numbers wide”) can be created using the character “§”, a smaller box with “#”.
