Reading Coach is an app that supports learning to read. It offers differentiated texts and quizzes at the touch of a button, making texts accessible and engaging for everyone. different reading levels are available. The app can also be used as Reading tandem partner Read along with the words (similar to the paired reading method) by pointing under them with your finger. This app is also particularly suitable for people with reading difficulties or for beginning readers. It can be a valuable tool in inclusive classrooms for different reading levels at the touch of a button, including informational texts that can be differentiated spontaneously.

Features of the app:

• You can Reading text Write, speak (dictate), photograph, or copy from another source. With the help of AI, the app can also generate free-form or headline-related reading texts.
• A text can then automatically differentiated texts at other reading levels, supported by an AI. Of course, you can also enter or change the differentiated reading texts yourself.
• Reading together: Use your Reading fingers and move it along under the text as you read. Turn on the speaker so the app can help you read.
• Understood the text? Check your understanding of the text with a quiz, which can also be created automatically.
• Registered users can see which texts they have already read and understood (green tick).

What else can you adjust?

• You can long tap on a word to Explanation to be displayed and read out (please turn on the loudspeaker!).
• The letters can larger or smaller be made.
• You can choose between different levels of difficulty switch back and forth.
• All texts and quiz questions can be changed and adapted.
• Texts can divided and saved in a file. Others can then import the reading text files into the app.

Tip: This is how you can improve your reading voice!
The default iOS voice sometimes doesn't sound very good. You can easily use a different voice. To do this, go to the Settings app → Accessibility → Spoken Content → Choose Voices. Here you can select and download other voices. The enhanced voices sound particularly good.

KI und Datenschutz

Zum Erzeugen und Differenzieren der Lesetexte nutzt die App eine Künstliche Intelligenz. Dafür wird der jeweilige Text über das Internet an einen KI-Dienst übertragen – mehr nicht. Es werden keine Namen, keine Benutzerkonten und keine Nutzungsprofile übermittelt, und es gibt keine Werbung in der App.

Diese Verarbeitung läuft ausschließlich über Server innerhalb der Europäischen Union und unterliegt damit europäischem Recht (DSGVO). Die Texte werden dort nur für die Dauer der Anfrage gespeichert und nicht zum Training von KI-Modellen verwendet.

Bitte gib trotzdem keine personenbezogenen Daten ein – also zum Beispiel keine Namen von Kindern. Für sensible Inhalte gibt es zwei Wege ganz ohne Übertragung an Dritte:

• KI auf dem Gerät: Auf neueren Geräten mit Apple Intelligence lassen sich die Texte vollständig auf dem Gerät verarbeiten. Sie verlassen es dann nicht. Du aktivierst das in den Einstellungen der App.
• Eigener Zugang (BYOK): In den Einstellungen kannst du einen eigenen API-Schlüssel und einen eigenen Anbieter hinterlegen – zum Beispiel einen KI-Dienst deiner Schule oder deines Trägers. Die Texte gehen dann ausschließlich dorthin.

Jede Textgenerierung kostet den Entwickler Geld. Deshalb kostet die App einmalig etwas, um diese Kosten decken zu können.
