to automate basic addition and subtraction tasks.
The simple, essential app for automating 1+1 and 1-1 for iOS has the following functions, among others:
- Practice by task type: Different types of tasks (e.g. tasks with 1, with 5, doubling tasks) can be selected for targeted practice. This allows practice to be carried out in context: "Easy" core tasks are automated first, and then "difficult" tasks can be derived from them.
- Learning progress indicator: A colored one-plus-one board shows the learning level for each user and makes it visible how the 1+1 or 1-1 tasks are learned with increasing confidence. When the tasks have been entered correctly four times in a row, they are considered learned and appear in orange.
- Graded difficulty and assistance: In the first round of tasks, brief illustrations (“flash view”) are shown as support. In the second round of learning, the app offers auxiliary tasks to encourage children to derive tasks from core tasks or reverse tasks. In the third round, all tasks must be entered without support and finally in the fourth round, the tasks must be entered correctly within a short period of time.
- Number range (5, 10, 20) and task types can be customizedThe number of tasks can be flexibly adjusted by setting the task types offered, so that intermediate successes are possible on the way to the complete automation of the one-plus-one.
Before the app is used in class or at home, the children should have completed an extensive phase of dealing with and understanding addition and subtraction tasks and should have learned, with and without illustrative material, ways of solving addition and subtraction tasks without counting. After this phase of understanding
